Superstar DJs @ March Violets’ November event in London

Just wanted to give this a bit of a plug…

The Violets have been kind enough to invite Matty & myself to DJ the evening.

Huzzah :)

Support bands will be confirmed over the coming weeks. I gather announcements will be made on the 13th of each month…

NEWS JUST IN

For those of you wondering what to do after the show in the Academy finishes. Fear not. Part 2 of the night is just around the corner, literally. All ticket holders are graciously invited to step into the Slimelight for a continuation of the Purpleness. There will be more guest artists performing live: Faderhead is already confirmed for the more Electroid amongst us, plus gothique karaoke horror, Vjay nonsense and drinkies. There will not be a raffle.

The O2 show starts at 6pm and finishes at 10pm. Free entry to the Slimelight for ticketed folks begins at 10pm and ends at midnight.

The Slimelight closes at 7.30am, perfect time to stagger back to the station for the ride home.

Major Thankyous and Respect to the Lovely Slimelight Crew for this.

Confirmed DJs Quiff Boy and Dead Matty

Tickets cost £15.00 and are on sale now from the venue or via Ticketweb.

Also… Join The Radiant Lodge on the link below to stay posted for more news about this event and our plans for recording the NEW ALBUM (!!) as we flesh them out…

Some Heartlanders may recognise Dead Matty as being the chap that played bass for the Violets at the Leeds “Homecoming” gig in 2007, and who DJ’ed for us at the last HL meet-up. He’s also a regular DJ at Club Lash (alt fetish in Manchester), and has helped me out DJing at Sin City on numerous occasions. Top chap.

Cheers, and see you there!

March Violets on Sky TV?

Sky subscribers have access to a bit of kit called the Sky Player which allows you to download and watch certain films, tv programmes, etc on your PC.

They rotate the content every week or so and, as of last Saturday, one of the films available to watch was the John Hughes film Some Kind Of Wonderful.

Amusingly, the main still from the film used on the Sky Player site is from the scene where The March Violets play live in a nightclub.

Here’s a screengrab:

If you hurry, you can still see it on the site here.
